Adventures of Abe and Rib

I love being slathered barbeque sau- oops, wrong rib.

One of my most memorable journeys was with former President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Together we had achieved a lot, and during the many battles in which we fought together, both verbal and physical, I protected some of his vital organs including his heart and lungs. I can recall my old pal Abe giving the Gettysburg Address and the nods of approval amongst those in the crowd. Just like I connected to Abe’s sternum through costal cartilage, he connected with the people of America that day. After he won the reelection, I protected his lungs and allowed him to catch his breath to continue fighting for an end to slavery. Abraham Lincoln loved to tell and listen to stories, and he passed that trait on to me.

After his unfortunate demise at the hands of John Wilkes Boothe, the occipital bone failed him (I never liked that bone) and he passed away due to a gunshot wound in the back of the head. His death was out of my hands, but during his life, I fought to keep him safe and supported, through thick and thin.

I, Ribby Jr., have proudly served presidents in the past, and will proudly serve as president in the future. As my buddy Abe once said, “Whatever you are, be a good one.” I am a rib, and I plan on being a great one.
